Dogtraining101 simply supplies the trainers so you get the correct training.
All our Group Courses are designed to build either on each other or in conjunction with them. This is about building a relationship with your dog. Unfortunately there are many out there who do not teach you how to do this. We provide these courses in an environment that can be distracting for the dog so they learn to trust you in all situations. Not only this but we give all of the profits from these courses to the charity HART101. Once you have done a course from Level 1 and above you can redo it anytime for Free for the life of that dog.
NEW – Reactive Dog Course
This is not a normal dog obedience course – this is designed for leash aggression and reactivity to other dogs. This is for dogs that have previously been attacked or owners that have been attacked. This is for the owners too scared to do obedience or rejected by every other training organisation who only know how to use food.
NOTE – we do not use food, static collars etc in this course. Only 3 Dogs per Trainer.
What does the course involve – there are two parts – firstly some private tuition to prep you then the group component. The cost covers the in-home component – group component.
$300 – 1x 60min in Home session – 1 x 4week group course
Part 1
- 1x 60min In home sessions first with the dog.
Part 2
- Week 1 – Revisit the principles learned in home but in the group setting – with Mat training and Sit. Learn how to get your dog in a controlled position for more than 5 seconds. We start to teach you how to build trust with your dog and that you are the protector.
- Week 2 – We visit the Heel Command. We start to increase the level of stimulation under control to build resilience and confidence both in the owner and the dog.
- Week 3 – We visit the Stay command. We continue to increase resilience and trust but without the owner being next to the dog.
- Week 4 – All commands are put together in environments that will continue to build trust in the owner.
Puppy School Course Information
For Puppies – Starting age must be less than 16 weeks of age or less
This is not your run of the mill puppy school – we are here to ensure the proper development of your puppy, not add on sell you or throw treats in with the puppies and call it socialisation. The course has been designed on the feedback from clients unhappy with what is in the marketplace. The trainers are trained in Dog Behaviour and are in the field training dogs and dealing with behavioural issues with clients every day – not trained in a shop reading a book on learning it via an in store training system. We have seen too many clients disappointed with whats on offer or given incorrect even dangerous advice in stores. There are a maximum of only 6 puppies allowed in each class to ensure you and your dog learn what you need to, and we strongly encourage families to bring their kids to learn.
We have online videos to assist with your learning and information booklet to assist you.
Please note – these puppies are in the most formative part of their life – as such we never use any technique that is cruel, inhumane or harsh. The course is designed to use treats to MAP in their mind specific behaviours for later in life. Once they graduate and are old enough we don’t use treats to bribe our dogs to do basic commands and basic obedience. We use positive rewards not food and basic obedience teaches you how to do this.
Course Outline – Puppy School

Week 1
No puppies in this class, this is education for Mum, Dad and the kids. We cover Parasite control, Nutrition, Child Safety, Socialisation in a Human World, Basics of Dog Language and Dog Drives, The Pack leader – Calm – Assertive – Consistent
Week 2
Puppies start this week – this is about practical application of what you are taught and learning how to do it. We cover Sit, Secrets of Mat training – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviours and ensuring correct play for healthy development.
Week 3
We cover Drop, Sit with a hand signal, Grooming/Dental – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviours and ensuring correct play for healthy development.
Week 4
We cover Drop with a hand signal, Stay with a hand signal, Come – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviours and ensuring correct play for healthy development.

For dogs – Starting age is over 16 weeks of age
Our Obedience courses run over 8 Levels and are designed to let you achieve the results you want. We limit the class size to 6 dogs so that we can maximize your learning. Our Obedience instructors are trained out in the field with in home behavioural training so that they can recognise and assist you during class with behavioural issues not just the Obedience training. We never use methods that are harsh or cruel to train the dogs, nor do we use food but show you how to use rewards to achieve the results. We incorporate turns and weaving into all our classes.
Our Optional courses are developed for enhancing control and your relationship with your dog – they are not compulsory.
